Years ago, when dinosaurs wandered through verdant jungles, I worked for the Prudential in Manchester. I wasn’t allowed to teach in Britain as my 5 years full time training wasn’t ‘good enough’ to let me loose in England’s school. Consequently I took up selling insurance moving on to various management roles in the nineties.
Now, as a retired ex-employee, I wrote an article for their twice yearly magazine when I was starting out as a novel writer. I’m republishing that here plus an update published this summer. I’ve had three more library books sold since then but it was too late to update this article.
