It was my editor at My Weekly, Maggie Swinburn, who first suggested a World War 2 novel with an Aussie touch. This was well outside my comfort zone as all of my previous novels had been st in my lifetime and, despite rumours to the contrary, I’m not over 75 for awhiles longer.
That meant loads of research, especially about Australian nurse, uniforms, Blackpool in the War, Sulfa drugs (the first antibiotics) … well, you get the idea.
The result is a not so gentle romance interwoven with intrigue, espionage, murder and a smidgen of skull-duggery.
I like the end result but then again I would. It’s on the supermarket magazine shelves in Britain starting 6th Feb 2020.
