Today, January 26th, is Australia Day. Whilst there are issues as to whether it is correct to commemorate the date that Captain Phillip arrived in Sydney Cove in 1788 as our national day, to me, a child of the fifties and sixties, I’m still proud of my joy for this special time.

Vegemite sandwiches have been prepared and a few bottles of Jammy Red Roo have been purchased (purely for medicinal purposes). Furthermore, I had some good news from there, making me even more proud to be an Aussie.
Australia’s That’s Life Mega Monthly (with it’s readership of 559,000 according to Roy Morgan Media Sept ’21) have chosen one of my short stories as their sole fiction in the Feb 22 issue. That makes me very privileged and grateful that so many of my countrywomen and men can read my words.
